Our Beer: On Draft
Simple Roots is all about life’s simple pleasures
Hanging out in the backyard with family and friends, playing some lawn games, and firing up the grill • We brew classic, accessible beers that anyone can enjoy. You know them: pilsner, pale ale, stout, kolsch, and other true-to-style beers • Dan is also busy experimenting with new hops, wild yeast, coffee or using that bumper crop of local raspberries for a sour • For those who love the details: We’re small but mighty. We double brew on our three barrel brewery into seven barrel fermenters, allowing us to produce about 170 gallons of finished beer per brew • We package our beer in 16 oz. cans and sell them within a 50 mile radius of our brewery in Burlington, VT. We’re also on tap in many of Northern Vermont’s best restaurants and bars.
Growler Policy
It's Simple: We fill any clean growler
We do not clean/exchange dirty growlers. If you purchase a Simple Roots 32oz. or 64oz. growler, it is yours to keep; it is not a deposit. Best way to care for your growler is to shake it with warm water and soap then rinse. If you’re too, um let’s say “tired” to deal with it after it’s drank, cap it and put it back in the fridge. Any remaining beer won’t spoil in there and you’ll remember to clean it the next day!
Our Story
Dan Ukolowicz & Kara Pawlusiak
We started Simple Roots in our garage in 2014. By summer of 2016, the size of the garage wasn’t enough. We were fortunate to find a space to open our brewery and taproom less than a mile from our house in the New North End of Burlington, VT.
We live and work in the same neighborhood. That’s important to us. Family, friends, our regulars, and our community inspire us every day. Stop by and visit sometime.
Enjoy the moment,
Dan & Kara
